This is a set of blocking combs I designed. They use standard 1.5" T Pins. The two parts of the blocking comb snaps together with pins in place as shown in the third photo. These are designed to be press fit, but a drop or two of glue can be used if needed.
The provided STL files are ready to be printed as they sit. You will need one cover and one holder for each pair. The items in the images provided were printed between .2mm (yellow and purple), and .3mm (blue and red).
The 0 tolerance version should work, but if it is too tight, the P1 cover variants have a 0.1mm tolerance.
The included fusion file will allow you to make pretty much any size comb and spacing of pins. Descriptions of each parameter are in the file, but the most commonly used are starred (pictured), and are as follows.
pinCount - This is the total number of pins and can set to anything between 1 and whatever will fit your printer
pinSpacing - This is the spacing of the pins. Because there needs to be space for both the top T shaped part of each pin, and allowance for a small space in between, the minimum value for this is 16mm. That is roughly ¾ inch. There is no upper limit.
trayDepth - This is the depth of the slot for each pin. It is currently set at 1.25mm and seems to fit a variety of pins. If you find it too loose or too tight, this can be adjusted. Higher numbers make a deeper slot.
tolerance - This is for the tolerance between the cover and the holder. I found 0 tolerance works for a good snap fit on my printer. Positive numbers make the fit looser, and negative numbers make it tighter. Use small increments. 0.1 to 0.2 should be plenty.
The rest of the parameters can be changed as well, but due to how they interact with the rest of the file, it could alter the combs in unexpected ways.
