I am working towards a print-in-place version of Tomáš Koloušek's magnetic coupler design. I have not looked at the wheel or wheel holders.

The design files attached to this model allow for printing two parts that are connected using one M2 x 13 or 14 pin, without any need for glue. STLs are attached for printing and STEP files are for others to improve on these changes.

  • The coupling cover and buffer have been fused together at the proper offset. I recommend printing this upside down; I hoped to find a better angle to print it such that the buffer plates would not be warped, but so far have been unsuccessful.
  • The anti-stud in the coupling cover has been deepened to 3.1 mm to mate better with bricks.
  • Both halves of the magnetic coupler mount have been fused together; it should be printed with a pause to insert the magnet as shown. Note: I had success with a 5mm dia. x 6.35mm long magnet without changing the holder. This is just what I had at home; the original recommends a 6mm dia x 4 mm long magnet.

These files are compatible with highly sophisticated interlocking brick systems, including LEGO.
