This tool is perfect for handling GU10 bulbs where your fingers can't go. The normal way of doing it is to use a suction cup tool - but it can be tricky to use - and some bulbs like Philips Hue GU10 are not suction cup compatible. The only thing you shouldn't do is to use the tool for removing bulbs that are too hot - then the gripper will melt or at least deform.
V2 is a development made to offer increased friction / better grip. One solution would be multi-material printing with e.g. TPU as friction element - but instead I have tried to make a simple design based on a basic rubber band to add friction. It can be printed without support - and rubber band pre-tension is adjusted by choosing holes matching the length of your rubber band.
