Creality Space Pi Plus upgrade to reduce lid opening angle to 90°. This should protect the fragile hinge from damage.

When the access door (lid) of the Creality Space Pi Plus (2 spool version) is fully opened, it almost touches the bottom and applies excessive stress to the hinge, which (in my opinion) is very fragilely designed.

I designed this upgrade to protect the hinge from damage, and to limit the opening angle to approximately 90 degrees.

To make the print easier, it is designed in two parts.

Update: In the latest version, the slanted surface (overhang) has been changed from 45° to 55°, to make the print look better than in the photo.

If the rod does not fit after printing, it may help to rework the hole with a 4 mm drill.

The existing hinge holes of the enclosure and lid are used for the fixation, but you have to replace the two 4 x 50 mm rods with one 4 x 185 mm rod.

To disassemble, the existing rods can be pushed out with a thin object such as a small screwdriver (be careful not to damage the enclosure or the lid).

BOM
- 1 piece of 4 x 185 mm steel rod

This is my strong version, with support on both sides and more wall thickness at the hole.
It has not yet been tested over a longer period of time.
