I left the original structure alone (and it is a LITTLE tight when first putting it on, but I decided to leave it)
I have the existing keyhole cover on all the time but that means when I'm around during the day or when I lock up at night I have to take it off, and I end up putting it down in places. With a little hole for some string, I have attached it to the door handle so that even when not in use, it doesn't go wandering.
