Jyggalag in a D&D Context

Jyggalag represents absolute order, logic, and determinism, standing in stark contrast to chaos, entropy, and free will. In the Elder Scrolls universe, Jyggalag was cursed to become Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness, but in your D&D setting, you can choose to keep him as a pure entity of order—or weave in that tragic duality.

Domain & Influence

  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral (with tendencies toward Lawful Evil if his order becomes oppressive).

  • Portfolio: Order, logic, inevitability, structure, fate.

  • Symbols: A silver geometric fractal or a perfectly symmetrical crystal.

  • Plane: The Infinite Lattice — a plane of endless crystalline structures, where time flows in perfect intervals and reality is governed by mathematical precision.

Followers & Cults

  • The Calculators: A secretive order of scholars and warlocks who believe that chaos is a disease and seek to “correct” the world.

  • The Knights of the Lattice: Paladins who enforce Jyggalag’s will, often clashing with chaotic forces like demons, fey, and even certain gods.

  • Dogma: “Chaos is weakness. Emotion is error. All things must converge toward the One True Pattern.”

Goals & Motivations

Jyggalag seeks to:

  • Eradicate randomness and unpredictability from existence.

  • Reshape the multiverse into a perfect, unchanging structure.

  • Destroy entities of chaos (Fey Lords, Slaadi, Abyssal demons, even certain gods).

Manifestation

Jyggalag rarely appears in person. When he does:

  • Form: A towering figure of silver armor, faceless helm, and a blade of pure crystal.

  • Aura: Reality stabilizes around him—wild magic fails, time anomalies cease, and probability collapses into certainty.

Possible Plot Hooks

  1. The Order Rising: A cult of Jyggalag begins “correcting” chaotic regions, erasing free will and imposing rigid laws.

  2. The Curse of Madness: Jyggalag’s essence is splitting—manifesting as a chaotic avatar (Sheogorath-like) that threatens his perfect design.

  3. The Infinite Lattice: A portal to Jyggalag’s plane opens, and adventurers must navigate a realm where logic itself is weaponized.

  4. The Final Equation: Jyggalag predicts the end of the multiverse and seeks to rewrite its “code”—but doing so would annihilate individuality.

D&D Mechanics

  • Warlock Patron: The Prince of Order (similar to Great Old One but with features like “Predictive Strike” and “Cancel Chaos”).

  • Cleric Domain: Order (existing in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, but flavored for Jyggalag).

  • Artifact: Blade of Certainty — ignores randomness (critical hits always occur on 20, disadvantage cannot apply).
