Every morning, watching my wife make her coffee with an Aero Press was an adventure in anxiety. She's pressing down hard, directly on the mug, and I'm cringing thinking the mug is about to shatter or slide out from under the pressure and make a giant mess. So for Christmas, I made her a stabilizer: a platform with wide legs that goes over the mug, so the Aero Press presses down on the stabilizer, not on the mug. Those inner legs are slightly shorter than the outer legs, so when pressed down, the outer legs provide the stability while the inner legs ensure that the stabilizer does not press down directly on the mug. Also, I put little rubber feet on the legs for traction. It works great, and mornings are now anxiety free.
She named it The Koffee Kraken. (Apparently there's a kraken in D&D that has 6 tentacles.) So here it is, for your consideration, The Koffee Kraken.
