Branch Out!

A turn-based balancing game of luck, skill, and shaky hands for up to 4 players.

Branch Out! is a tense and playful tabletop game where players take turns growing a shared tree — one risky branch at a time. Every placement adds height, weight, and danger as the structure becomes more unstable. Sometimes you’ll place a gentle single branch… other times you’ll be forced to add a heavy piece that might bring everything crashing down.

Your goal is simple: get rid of all your pieces before anyone else. But be careful — if you cause the tree to shed branches, you’ll be taking them right back!

Perfect for quick games, family play, and anyone who loves balance games with a twist of strategy and chaos.

All models pictured were printed without supports on the elegoo slicers standard settings. 2 walls, 0.2 for the larger items and 0.16 for the branches and dice, but you know your printers :)

I have also supplied a condensed Rule Card that fits nicely glued in the lid or box. PDF for printing and cutting out or SVG if you want to laser it.

SETUP

  • 2–4 players

  • Each player starts with:

    • 5 single-branch pieces

    • 5 double-branch pieces
      (10 pieces total per player)

  • Place the tree trunk in the centre

  • Choose a starting player

Taking a Turn

On your turn, roll the die and follow the result:

  • 1 → Place one single-branch piece onto the tree

  • 2 → Place one double-branch piece onto the tree

  • + → Take one branch piece from any opponent, add it to your supply, then re-roll

  • − → Give one branch piece to any opponent, then re-roll

If the result tells you to place a piece, you must carefully add it to the tree without disturbing the structure.

If you run out of appropriate pieces for the roll, just place 1 of what you have left.

Balancing & Falling Pieces

  • Branches may be placed anywhere on the tree, at any angle, as long as they are touching the structure.

  • You may adjust your piece while placing it, but once you let go, the placement is final.

  • If any pieces fall during your turn, for any reason:

    • You must take all fallen pieces and add them to your supply.

    • Your turn then ends.

Winning the Game

  • The first player to have no branch pieces left wins!

SPEED PLAY AND MASTER MODE⚡

      SPEED PLAY:

  • Roll two dice at once

  • No re rolls after a + or -

  • If either die causes pieces to fall:

    • Take all fallen pieces

    • Your turn ends immediately

      MASTER MODE:

  • 2 Players start with 20 pieces, 10 of each.

  • Roll two dice at once

  • No re rolls after a + or -

  • Play both results in any order

  • If either die causes pieces to fall:

    • Take all fallen pieces

    • Your turn ends immediately

You could also combine both Modes for real chaos.
