I really wanted ear hooks for my Old Fashioned... but I couldn't find anything nice so I decide to give it a shot and design one myself.

Printing Notes

Make sure your printer is very well calibrated because

  • We're printing small fine items, if you have adhesive problems, use brim or mouse ears, especially for the ear "pole" piece

  • Recommended to print using PETG

  • The pieces were designed with ZERO tolerance push fit in mind thus if you try to print this your printer needs to be working in top accuracy..

    • Try just printing the pole and bridge piece and see if you can get them to connect.

  • Ear Hook needs to be mirrored on X axis to get proper orientation for both sides

    • 0.2mm layer height recommended, maybe even just use variable to smoothen out to get a smoother ridge where it contacts the ears.

    • Might want to sand the surfaces of the ear hook to make it smoother and less irritating

Assembly Notes

  • Remove the ear pieces from the headband.

  • Unscrew and disassemble the connector pieces

  • Screw the connector piece into the base,

    • Hold it up against a light to be able to position the screw holes accurately.

  • Insert the pole into the base.

  • Insert the assembly back into the ear pieces, taking note of left and right orientation

  • Insert "Bridge" piece into "Pole"

  • Insert the proper "Ear hook" into the bridge.

Updates

  • 2nd Aug 2026

    • Added hooks that extend down further to try and provide a tighter fit.
