The Design

Storing the yoghurt (crème fraiche) inside inside the fridge requires a lid to keep it fresh. More and more those containers are not provided with the standard lid that was supplied with it previously (in the Netherlands at least). And that’s good I believe to prevent waste.

For this reason I made this Keep-Fresh Lid that can be uses over and over.
It comes in two sizes: Diameter 95mm and 86.5mm.

If you want, the text displayed on the top, can be printed multi-color.
In that case make sure to split the model in parts. Next you can select the text solids and apply a different color.

Material

I used PETG for it, but be carefull putting it in de dishwasher. It will deform ;). Washing by hand is adviced.

Print settings

I applied the following settings for my print:

  • Layer height: 0.2

  • Infill: 15%

  • Model orientation: Make sure to point the top-side towards the printbed.

  • Perimeters: 2

  • Support:  none

  • Model import: -

  • MultiColor: If you want like I explained.

Note: Please consider other settings incase you think this helps you or the design in any way.

Acknowledgements

I began my 3D printing journey in 2023 — A deliberate step into a world that blends creativity with engineering. Drawn to the story and philosophy behind Prusa, I chose to start with one of their printers the MK4. As an engineer, I find this manufacturing method both fun and deeply educational. It challenges to think differently about how you (approach) design and builds: from individual parts to assemblies.
