Klipper Expander is the way to go, if you're planning to implement new features to your Sovol Zero.
It's cheap, reliable and very easy to implement and it gives you a lot of new opportunities,..
As I need a Klipper Expander for upcoming Mods, I designed a mount for the Zero.
Main documentation source for klipper expander can be found here:
https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Hardware/tree/master/Klipper_Expander/Documentation
Setup:
*.cfg files to start with:
https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Hardware/tree/master/Klipper_Expander/Software
Setup is pretty straight forward. All expanders, I ordered, came pre-flashed, so you normally can skip that part. Just mount the expander, connect via USB, connect 24V from power supply, read out the serial port name and update your cfg file accordingly and setup your devices. Done.
Fysetc Klipper Expander:
BOM:
2x M4x18 (16) to mount the mount to the Zero. (Replace original screws)
2x M4 nuts & washer
4x M3 Voron Style Heat Inserts
2x M3x10
2x M3x6
The cover is optional. You don't necessarily need it to mount the expander to the Zero. I'm not using the original underbody panel, but still wanted good protection and cable management.
Optionally, I also uploaded a version of the mount which should work together with the original underbody panel.
Also take a look at the photo gallery for instructions. The pictures should be self-explanatory.
Use any sort of higher temp material, at least PETG, I used ABS+. PLA would also might work in the underfloor compartment.
If you like my design, feel free to like, comment or add a make :)
Happy printing!
