Modification / upgrade of the collar and tension bolt to prevent it from moving after set to its desired height.  After making this I've seen other modifications / versions that use a vertical screw for infinite variability, but less repeatability / reproducibility.  I would look at both options and see which one you might prefer.

I used measurements from the original model to model my own collar, so it will not be 100% identical, particularly the sloped ramps were difficult to recreate, but seems to function just fine with all other original parts.  After recreating the CAD model I added notches to the collar to prevent the bolt and nut from moving after it is set.  Then made a new tension retaining clip with corresponding notches.

I recommend using a lock nut with the retaining clip bolt if you are not doing so already.  I use a washer on the bolt face as well, as I was worried about over stressing the clip.

I recommend using the 3MF with the settings provided:

  • 0.4mm nozzle

  • 0.1mm layer lines (will help with printing the notches in the collar and retaining clip

  • Iron all top surfaces where the needles will slide (height layer modifications set in file)

  • Cylinder modifiers around the 8mm shaft holes set to outside inside for better accuracy / fit
