Assembly:

Start with the spring and snap the rack guide then gear onto the hex pin.

To mesh in the racks (the straight latch pins with gear teeth) you're going to preload the spring then place them in the guide slots.

  • twist the hex pin counterclockwise

  • should load the spring about one gear tooth over the resting state

  • place the racks into the guide meshing with the central gear

  • spring should be pushing the gear and racks clockwise

  • should be tight fit on the first but the first rack should hold the gear in place making the others easier to place

  • use the knob to rotate the hex peg if you're having difficulty

Place the lid on top of the assembly so far.  Pegs of the spring should snap into holes on the lid.

Snap the knob onto the hex pin that should be sticking out the top of the lid

Superglue the top assembly together making sure the racks are still free to move if you twist the knob.

  • if superglue pools on the inside of the lid some sanding may be required for smooth mating with the body

Let dry then you can snap the top assembly to the body of your choice.
