Mirror Mount for Clip-A-Cap: The Modular Accessory System

Clip-A-Cap is a modular mounting platform that transforms almost any headwear into a versatile, hands-free tool station. Built on a specialized "Claw & Ball" friction-fit system, the possibilities for customization are virtually endless.

📂 Current Attachment: Rear-View Mirror Mount

By mounting a small mirror to your Clip-A-Cap, you gain an adjustable rear-view perspective that stays right in your peripheral vision.

• Enhanced Awareness: An excellent tool for walkers, hikers, or runners on multi-use paths who want to keep an eye on surroundings or approaching traffic without constantly turning around.

• Signal & Reflective Utility: Serves as a hands-free reflective device. Use it to signal others in the distance or reflect light into tight, dark spaces while you work.

• Adjustable Field of View: The pivoting ball-joint allows you to fine-tune the mirror angle to perfectly suit your posture and the brim of your hat.

🛠 Hardware & Customization

This mount is designed to fit a standard 1-inch (25.4mm) round mirror. I have provided the STEP file so you can easily modify the frame for any mirror you have on hand.

• Specific Mirror: 1" Round Glass Mirrors at Michaels Canada (This is the specific set I used for this print).

• Adjust It Yourself: Download the STEP file included in the "Files" section to modify the mount diameter for a different mirror size or shape.

⚠ Required: Base Hat Clip

To use this attachment, you must first print the Base Hat Clip. It is the foundation of the system.

⚙ Print Settings

• Filament: TPU 95A (Highly recommended). Using TPU for the attachment paired with the PETG Base Clip prevents wear and ensures the joint stays tight.

• Walls/Perimeters: 3 Walls (Recommended for the best grip on the mirror and the ball joint).

• Resolution: 0.2mm

• Infill: 30%

• Supports: No
