I was waiting for 3d printed parts for my PiFinder to finish when I saw my laser cutter/engraver.  I knew what I had to do.  Using the 3d stl files as a template I created wood versions.  This was more for fun than actual use.
These are designed to be cut out of 3mm thick wood.  You will still need to either use a 3d printed mount for the raspberry pi or design a fully wood one yourself. I used https://en.makercase.com/basicBox for the initial finger jointed box that was then modified with the cutouts. If you plan to use it under damp conditions, you should consider a waterproof finish for it.  I used standard wood glue that dries waterproof for the box and glued up pieces.
