This project involved building a precision RC saw, similar to the ones from Revell, but with a more ergonomic handle. The goal was to build a saw that is more comfortable to hold and allows for more precise application of force.

Material & Surface Specifications

  • Body: Needs to be made of fiber-reinforced material.

  • Handle Shells: There are no special requirements for the material or adhesive.

  • Grip: Slip resistance is ensured by FuzzySkin and integrated steps.

Assembly & Hardware

I used RC605132 saw blades with an exposed length of 76mm.

  • Securing: The blade is secured with a 10mm M4 grub screw (2.0 mm hex).

  • Preparation: A 3.3 mm hole must be drilled at the end of the saw blade for assembly. Since it is a bi-metal saw blade, there is no need to worry about the drill.

Usage & Limitations

This is a precision saw for finishing wood, plastics, light and non-ferrous metals. Please don't blame me for breaking it on a steel beam!
