This is a balancing game heavily inspired by Cards vs Gravity. I couldn't get that one in my town, so I modeled and printed it. Needless to say, since it closely resembles the real board game, the files and prints should be only for personal use. If you use them in a commercial way, do so at your own risk (since we know that a lot of people ignore the licenses put on here).

Rules

I have the original rules here and some variations I came up with but you can always make your own :)

Original rules

The aim of the game is to balance your cards on the bottle topper without them falling off. If they do, take a drink!

To set up the game either put the bottle attachment part onto a bottle and attach the magnet disc to it or directly attach the magnet disc to a bottle with a metal cap. Afterwards shuffle the cards and place the deck in the center of the table.

The first player takes the top card and slots it into the disc in the area of matching color. Then, in a clockwise order, take it in turns to take the top card from the deck and balance it on another card of the same color. You can slot cards into each other, or dangle them off the corners. Cards may only touch cards of the same color. The wild card can go anywhere and then becomes the type it’s touching. If any cards fall on your turn, shuffle them back into the deck, but not before taking a sip for the number that does. Wild cards count as double. If all cards fall… down it, fresher!

If you balance every card, it doesn't end there. On your turn, the player on your right must pick a card - as long as it's only attached to one other - for you to remove and attach to any other color. The game ends when a player makes every card come crashing down.

Original rules link Pretty much what I described above is in the link as well but I'm sharing it in case you want to look it up as well.

Alternative rule variations

Like any game, the rules aren't set in stone and we can alter them to have a better time playing. I've come up with a couple, but if you have any other ideas, you can let me know and I can add them here so everyone can try them out.

  1. Instead of drinking you can be counting points ( e.g. regular card placed - 1pt, wild card 2pts etc. and/or with negative points for fallen cards)

  2. Instead of drawing from the deck, each player can be given a hand of cards to play from them.

  3. If you're using rule 2. and cards fall from someone's turn, they pick them up in their hand.

  4. If you're using rule 2. and 3. the win condition could be the first player to run out of cards.

  5. Instead of drinking you could have "punishments" in the form of trivia facts or something similar.

  6. Since I've added 2 more card types (lighter and heavier versions of the regular cards), I'm using them as wild cards as well, but it's perfectly fine to print and use them as colored cards as well.

Cards

  • Regular cards

  • Wildcards

  • Light weight cards

  • Heavy weight cards

And hopefully more to come :)

3D Printing

Print settings

I've made all files to be printable without supports. I used .4 nozzle and 15% infill. Also make sure you don't have too many bottom and top layers as the cards are 1mm thick. Basically, a default printing profile should work just fine.

If you'll be printing the heavy weight cards, the tolerance on the connection is .15mm. If that's not enough for your printer's calibration, you can downscale the connector a bit so it fits.

Finally about multicolor, I don't have an AMS so I made additional versions of the regular card and the base for easier painting afterwards. If you have an AMS, you can just print the regular ones and color them in your slicer (or however that works)

What to print

Minimum for playing
  • 1x Base

  • 20-24x Regular cards (5-6 of each color)

  • 4x Wildcard

Optional/Expansions
  • Bottle attachment piece

  • Light weight cards

  • Heavy weight cards

Assembly

For assembly you need:

  • 2 8x3 circular magnets

  • Glue (If you'll be printing the heavy cards versions from the expansion)

The assembly itself is quite self explanatory - you put the magnets in the holes and voila. You can also use some glue to make sure they stay in there.

Remixing

Since it's a board game, it has endless possibilities for different variations. If you want to make your own unique cards, here are the dimensions I used:

  • width: 56mm

  • height: 88mm

  • thickness: 1mm

  • card corner radius: 3mm

For the holes:

  • width: 5.5mm

  • height: 24mm

  • distance from the edge of the card: 5mm

  • hole corner radius: 1.575mm

Finally I added a .25 chamfer on all edges (so select the top and bottom faces of the card and that should do it). Important to note is that if you adjust the hole sizes, the game will become either easier or harder depending if you increase or reduce them respectively.

I had an idea to find a way to add small magnets (and maybe small nuts) in some cards to add the element of magnetism to the game. If someone beats me to it, I'd love to see the results :)
