Gently press it into the soil. Do not use excessive force. If it does not go in on the first try, try moving it back and forth a few times in small increments.
The irrigation holes should be small enough so that the water does not simply flow through immediately. In case of your printer seals those holes, I created alternative model with slightly bigger holes.
