I needed to pull a cable with fixed plugs without cutting it into a instalation box with sockets. The standard plug on a cable is able to go through a 38mm hole, but this is too large opening for just a cable. Not only it is ugly, but it would welcome wasps or other insect to nest inside the box.
So I made this cover. It is for 38-40 mm opening in a 1-8 mm wall with up to 7mm thick cable.
pull cable with the plug through the hole
put the screw part on the cable and push it through the hole.
(optional) insert the key in the opening in the screw for a nicer look.
put the cap part on the cable and screw it tight on the screw part
Printed in PLA, 0.2 layer height.
The screw feels tight at first, but the cover screws on freely after five minutes of screwing on and off.
