Introduction

Hello, and thanks for looking at my model!

I live own a three decker which means that even though I own my own home I also live in an apartment. This creates problems for hobbies like model making, scratch building and miniature painting for wargaming due to space constraints. It's fine to spread out when working on a hobby but that stuff needs to be packed away as small as possible when not in use. Milwaukee PACKOUT was the perfect answer to this - mostly. I have changed the stack once as two new pieces came out but it still needed some adjustment to make it perfect for my needs.

At first I was just using some random bins I found at the local dollar store to organize the drawers in my PACKOUT stack. This is less than ideal. The generic bins are not sized to use all the space in a drawer or use the space they take up efficiently. I have recently been going through my PACKOUT drawers and cabinets with Gridfinity and a few other things to make more efficient use of the space in my stack. I am actually starting to look for stuff to put in the drawers that I am organizing as they take up such little space with Gridfinity.

For reference the two drawer PACKOUTs I currently have in my stack are the three drawer PACKOUT 48-22-8447, the one with two of the short drawers on top and one large drawer on bottom. I also have the original three drawer PACKOUT 48-22-8443, the one with three equally sized drawers. I am using these excellent baseplates by @AlvarosK_398057. I used the optional pins when using his plates but I found no need for glue or double sided tape to hold them in. They fit very tight and keep themselves in.

This model was designed for one of the two slim drawers using @AlvarosK_398057's slim drawer baseplate but it's Gridfinity, you could use this bin in any standard baseplate. This is meant to fit a very common style of mini flashlight. The mini flashlight in the photo is actually a UV light for curing resin. I intentionally did not form fit the recess to the flashlight but created the recess to be just a hair bigger than the widest part of the flashlight. This should allow it to fit almost all mini flashlights out there. They are all the same length but depending on the manufacturer they can have different contours.

The bin is 1 x 3 x 5. It will fit in the four drawer or the top two drawers of the three drawer with two thin drawers and one deep drawer. In the photo I have the bin in one of the slim drawers and it fits the height easily. You would only be able to fit a one unit tall Gridfinity bin without a stacking lip on top of it in the slim drawers though. However in the deeper two and three drawer PACKOUTs the sides of this bin are tall enough to allow another bin to stack on top of it without hitting the mini flashlight inside.

There is no side cutout to stick a finger into to get the mini flashlight out because I wanted to limit this to a 1 wide configuration to save as much space as possible. There is however ample room to leave the little lanyard these come with attached as min in the photo is to use in removing it. There is also enough finger space at either end and enough flashlight sticking out of the recess to allow you to grab it easily.

Also, I do in fact realize that this bin does not match the red of the other bins I've printed so far. I tossed the last half roll of red Overture Pro PLA I was using because it is hot garbage that kept jamming, snagging and caused two clogs. I am now using the remaining bits of random PLA I have hanging around for these bins. They're hobby bins that live in a drawer and I don't really care even a little that if they all match. If you saw this one up close you'd be able to tell that the bottom parts that slip into the baseplate are a different color from the link you see in the photo.

Print Settings:

The 3MF file is set to use Prusa's Generic PLA profile which honestly works pretty good for most PLA filament. Change it to whichever brand profile you use for your filament. Aside from that important settings used were:
