V2/2.1 of a pad cleaner I had previously posted. Didn't like how the compound/polish would build up on the pad cleaner. New design is printed in 2 parts instead of 4 - Needs a minimum of a 300X300 bed size to print. Has bigger half-spheres instead of many smaller fileted holes. Main body surface is raised with a small channel and 3 .75" holes to help drain fluid.

There will be 2 files. The orig V2 version and an updated version with 2 cut-out sections in the middle to aid in draining.

the first version requires 4 5mm heat set inserts and a brackets to hold the two pieces together. Then 1-2 small clamps using 3mm heat set inserts to clamp the cleaner to the bucket.

Both versions use threaded inserts plus the bracket to hold the 2 pieces together. Picture is of V2. V3.1 is printing as of 03/15/26 and will update picture of new model when assembled. Also depth is 1.5" versus 2" to give more space between bottom of polisher and pad cleaner lip.

Have tested V2 with a Liquid Elements 15mm polisher with no tolerance issues.

Print in PETG. 3 walls, 20-25% infill. Printed on a Creality K2 print time is roughly 10.5 hours.

You will need to sand down the top of the spheres. I used 320 grit on an oscillating tool to remove any rough edges then rinsed thoroughly to remove plastic dust. If you choose to use the "Ironing" function, you may not need to sand but printing time more than doubles.

Supports are needed. You can use auto, or manual and paint for where you need supports on the lower part where there are bridges. The lip of the cleaner will need supports.

The support brackets are designed for a tight fit into the slotted sections on each side of the pad cleaner. You will need to print a total of 2. PLA is fine. 2-3 walls. 15% infill. Insert, then tap in with a rubber/plastic mallet. Get 2nd side partially onto the support pieces then use rubber mallet to carefully tap in 2nd side.

The clamps can be printed in PLA or PETG or ABS. Your discretion.

Designed to fit into a Chemical Guys 3.5 gallon bucket. Scale to fit a bucket you have. Made to be printed with 1kg of filament. Tested and fits in a Maxshine 5 gallon bucket, as well as an Adam's polishes 5 gallon bucket.

V2.1 has 2 extra "hole" where the 2 pieces meet for added draining. V2.2 will be added shortly to include the use of 5mm hex nuts instead of heatserts.

I really appreciate any and all feedback! Please take pictures and upload, it would be greatly appreciated.

Update 06/10/2026

Newest version has been uploaded. This includes 2 cut outs in the middle of the half section for added draining.

Update:

06/12/26. The V3.2.1 model was missing some half-spheres. My apology as I don't know why the model ended up like that. I have re-uploaded a complete model.
