Replacement Scissor Handle (Two-Piece Model)

A practical solution for repairing a broken scissor handle. This model will help you restore the tool's functionality without having to buy new scissors.

Important: Due to the wide variety of scissor designs, this model is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It serves as a starting point—a ready-made base that you can adapt to a specific scissor model.

Model Features:

Two-Piece Design: The model consists of two parts. This solution ensures optimal strength and precision fit.

Flexibility: Use the provided geometry as a basis for your own modifications.

FreeCAD Document (.FCStd) — the original design of the model. This file is intended for editing. If you need to:

Change the dimensions to suit a specific scissor model;

Adapt the shape of the seat;

Rework the geometry for a better fit;

Add or remove structural elements, use this format. FreeCAD is required to work with it.

Printing recommendations:

Material: PLA is ideal—it's easy to print and durable enough for this task. PETG can also be used for greater durability.

Assembly and installation instructions:

Print both parts of the model.

Try the main part against the scissors. If necessary, adjust the shape with a file or sandpaper.

Clamp the scissors and the printed handle into place, and insert the second part using a strong adhesive (such as epoxy or cyanoacrylate). Ensure a tight fit and apply the setting time according to the adhesive's instructions.

Important notes:

Before printing, measure the dimensions of the broken handle and compare them to the model. Scaling or editing in FreeCAD may be necessary.
