This is a tool designed to aid in cleaning the surface of 8 inch floppy disks.
It is essentially a scaled-up version of Lemaru's 5.25 inch floppy disk cleaning tool, released under Creative Commons. Developed for use at the Czechoslovak Game Archive.
Print requirements:
No special print requirements. 30% infill or more will make the tool feel heavy and sturdy.
Assembly Instructions:
The spindle requires a flat rubber washer to be placed onto it which is used to grip the centre of the disk. The rubber washer should have the following dimensions:
35mm inside diameter
48mm outside diameter
thickness of 1mm.
Usage Instructions:
Place the spindle in the centre of the holder. Insert your floppy disk into the holder. Then close the tool and apply light pressure. The rubber washer should grip the disk and allow you to spin the magnetic surface by rotating the tool. You can then clean the magnetic surface using your preferred method while rotating the disk.
