While looking around for pipe rosettes most of the designs were too bulky in my opinion so I decided to design my own. I really liked the principle of Dennis Hach's design so I adapted it for my specific needs.

I wanted to have a minimum thickness of the covers for my vacuum robot to clean around them. I added large champfers all around so that you can just run the vaccum over the edges without moving the cover around.

I used ironing for the top surface to get a nice finish and that worked really nicely.

Changelog

  • 2026-04-11: Uploaded first public R3 model.

Dimensions

  • Thickness: 4mm

  • Pipe distance

    • I uploaded several version of the base model, in 45, 50, 55, 60mm, that's the distance between the pipe centers.

    • I used the 50mm version for all of my 11 radiators and could compensate with the plugs for their small distance variations.

  • Pipe distance variation

    • The holes in the plugs are offset to their center by 2mm so you should be able to compensate a pipe distance variation of +-2mm by rotating the plugs accordingly.

    • This can also be used to align the cover with the floor if the pipes are offset to each other, see one of the pictures.

  • Pipe diameter

    • I uploaded several versions of the plugs, in 2, 12.5, 14, 15, 15.5, 16mm, I used 12.5 and 15.5 for my radiators.

    • You can use the 2mm version to punch your required pipe diameter through the plugs, use the 2mm hole circle as reference when doing so.

Printing

  • Material: I used PLA and PETG, mostly PETG but for one radiator I needed a grey color for matching the floor tiles, so far PLA survived the pipe temperatures.

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm

  • Perimeters: 3

  • Infill: 15% Gyroid

  • Ironing (for the Base only): Topmost surface only, Flow rate 25%

  • Print the base twice and also a matching plug twice
