Scorpion is a remix of the V1.X (Legacy) Ontos that uses the 35mm PT. This remix gives the Ontos a nice change in ergo with an ACR-style body and stock while staying true to the Ontos' original design principles.
A V2.X-compatible (TC plunger tube) version is being worked on and will be released shortly.
NOTES
I've included pre-cut .step files with text inlaid for people with multicolor printers who want the text in a different color. I've also included a version that uses debossed text for single-color printers.
The Scorpion PPCAR is in development and right now uses a bunch of guesstimates for twist rate and line count. Let me know if you're having issues.
ADDITIONAL HARDWARE
Top Rail
4x M3 x 12mm button head screws - to attach the top rail sections
4x M3 hex nuts - captive nuts for the top rail
Cheek Rest
4x M3 x 12mm button head screws - to attach the cheek rest
PRINT INSTRUCTIONS
The raised sections of CenterLeft and CenterRight (the magwell/receiver parts) require supports in the same manner as GripLeft and GripRight; use the same support settings as in the Ontos 2.0 Instructions
The decorative slots in FrontLeft and FrontRight will print better with supports. I used grid supports with a 30-degree critical angle.
The Scorpion PPCAR should be pointed with the barrel side on the build plate, at least 3 walls, at least 3 top/bottom surfaces, and at least 10% infill. This part should not need any support. I recommend using seam painting and painting the inner seam to avoid the rifling lines.
The Stock should be printed with the stock plate side facing down.
The Grip requires supports for the trigger guard. Follow the support settings in the Ontos 2.0 instructions; I used grid supports with a 30-degree critical angle.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (Photo included above)
Assembly is mostly the same as the original Ontos, so you can refer to its technical documentation.
The right frame sections have spaces for M3 captive nuts for the top rail and should be inserted before joining halves, as with the captive nuts in the original build.
The cheek rest screws thread into the plastic of the Stock.
Thank you to JoshK, the original Ontos creator, for helping me with teething issues for this remix!
