The String Shelving System can make for a great, compact desk setup, however it has some limitations for storage of common workspace items.
This laptop stand is designed to snap seamlessly onto any String wall panel, and can comfortably support a up to 16" MacBook Pro. The separate left and right mounts can be slid to the right spacing for your device, so even iPads or other smaller devices can be used without sliding through the gap. The width of the mounts are such that ports remain accessible on current generation MacBook Pros and Airs.
PLA can be used and is plenty strong at typical default settings, though a brim is recommended. It can be printed without supports - just split the mounts into two objects and auto-orient in your slicer. This should place the enclosed side on the build plate.
