This is a desktop clock I built where I wanted to have all the guts visible. The electronics are some cheap LED matrices, a pi zero (or a microcontroller) and it comes with some software (for the pi zero w) that supports fonts, weather, mirror mode for video call background, some animations, messaging, a way to configure it via web and some more.
All that is available in the git repo and the project was featured in Hackaday!
