I love classic arcade video games but don't have the space, so I decided to make these arcade style marquee light boxes for graphic panels scaled down to 5" x 14". I created this design in Onshape.
The light box is assembled with a bit of hot glue and four M3 x 20 screws. The arcade marquee graphic is sandwiched between two 1/16" acrylic panels. I created grooves in the back for the 5Volt LED strips, and a hole for the cable to exit. The back panel I printed in two colors, black on the bottom (outside), and white on the top (inside). It is printed at .2 layer height and no supports are needed. I have printed the design in PLA and PETG. I prefer the PETG because of the texture from the Prusa textured build plate adds a nice look.
The materials list and where I purchased them are below:
I purchased the classic arcade marquee graphics here
The two 1/16 panels of acrylic were purchased here.
M3 x 20 stainless steel screws may be found here.
The 5V LED light strips and switches I used are found here and here.
The side pic shows one of my earlier iterations that has a slide in back panel. I have since abandoned.
