My M1060 broke last year (the wood split). Since going back to the office I miss my Sundara at home, so I decided to repair/mod my old trusty M1060 to a close back design so I can use it at the office.
There are three parts to the print.
- The housing. All of these uses a beefier screw (M3 x 10mm), this part is required to put the rest together.
- Hifiman pad adapter, if you prefer to glue down your pad then this could be skipped.
- Close back cups. I've also uploaded a flatter design to try and match its original profile if you fancy that. There are two versions of both with and without the text and graphic.
- Hifiman clips (HIFIMAN Ear Pad Mounting Ring by iElectronCloud | Download free STL model | Printables.com)
The Hardwares you will need is:
- 8x plastic insert (Tapered Heat-Set Inserts for Plastic, Brass, M3 x 0.50 mm Thread Size, 3.800 mm Installed Length | McMaster-Carr)
- 16x M3x0.5mm, 10mm long (Alloy Steel Low-Profile Socket Head Screw, Hex Drive, Plain, M3 x 0.5 mm Thread, 10 mm Long | McMaster-Carr)
- Optional, two poles 2.5mm female ports (MR-2502 CUI Devices | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey)
- Headbands and other minor hardware can be recycled from original.
