What is it?
This is easy to build car that is propelled by baloon air. It drives quite a long way and is real fun.
Apart of what is 3D printed, you will need:
cardboard box,
2 skewer sticks,
baloon
some tape
bit of thread
no tools apart of scissors (to trim sticks) and needle (to saw pipe to the car body)
Printing:
Any PLA is enough, all standard settings. Print orientation as shown in picture, tree supports enabled for pipe and nozzles (rest prints flat). If removed tree supports on part called "pipe" give you sharp spots, you can sand it / file it down to avoid baloon popping up.
Assembly:
You start by putting skewer sticks through cardboard box. If you want them all to be on same height - use some raiser - like a phone or postits as a base (horizontal) + pencil (horizontal) and lay it still, move the box around - and you will have nice lines on same height.
After that you put a wheel on the stick (distance side to car body) + wheel mount + some tape around skewer to lock in place (blue in the photo)
Trim the skewer sticks, so they are not sticking too much to the outside
If it rolls - congratulations - you're on the good track
On top-back of the car, you need to mount the part called pipe - this is to hold baloon and provide thrust. I've double-side-taped it and also secured it by stitch (there are 3 holes aeach side for this: standard needle + thread). Internal thread to back of the car.
Then - you mount baloon and the selected nozzle (screw it in, hand tight)
Use:
Blow the baloon, put it on the ground and see how it runs forward
Switch nozzle sizes to see which one is best performer for you
Have fun and enjoy :)
Don't be shy - if you make it - share your thoughts - you are very welcome to do so!
Cheers :)
