Purpose
While the Prusa Core One+ can automatically actuate the air vent, there is no dust protection when opened. This model remedies this shortcoming. It combines the automatic actuation feature with effective dust filtering.
Hardware
Print the vent cover skeleton from some temperature-resistant polymer.
The foam utilized is from some jewelry packaging. Any other well air-penetrable foam should work.
Mounting
Fits the original mounting holes.
Mounts utilizing the original hardware.
Cut the foam to shape.
Mark the screw holes on the foam (not symmetrical) and cut small slids for the screws to go through.
Sandwitch the foam between the acrylic glass and the vent cover skeleton. A tiny! dot of CA glue in every corner helps to keep the foam in place during assembly. Just make sure to really only use a tiny dot of glue. Otherwise, the hardened glue prevents the skeleton from squashing the foam uniformly/properly.
Tighten the screws until the thread just starts to grip the nuts' nylon inserts. Do not tighten them any further. Otherwise, the vent's friction will be too great to guarantee proper operation.
