This is a simple rain gauge for your lawn. I designed this (with AI assistance) for monitoring watering of a lawn. The print is very simple and allows easy printing of several so you can spot monitor multiple locations simultaneously. The built-in spike allows the gauge to be placed in the grass quickly and easily. There are two versions included: One has slightly thicker walls making it more robust. The other with thinner walls prints more quickly. Neither model requires supports. They both print well oriented with the spike facing up. For my needs the faster printing model is better. Because it is very difficult to print transparent plastics, the gauge markings are on the interior of the gauge. Markings are in 1/4" increments from 1/4" to 1 1/2". The tapered design allows for higher accuracy for accumulation below 1".
In principle since this is an outdoor device you might want to print in ASA to improve sun tolerance, but I printed in PLA. It is water tight and will certainly outlive my need for it.
I should point out that despite the "AI" label here, this is a real model that I've printed and used.
