Window Lithophane Frame

This was designed for a gift to my mother. The idea was lithophane-stained glass, using the sun as a light source. I decided plain white looked best, but there is no reason you couldn't use a color with a simple TD test. I used a suction cup hook (like what you would hang a wreath) and yarn to hang it in the window.

The frame is designed to hold a 105x105mm litho in the center, with twelve 50x50mm lithos surrounding it. I purposely made the margins tight so I wouldn't have to glue, but you could simply scale the model, scale your litho, or use the .step file to edit the geometry to what you would like. If you looked at the last image, you will see that all the lithophanes fit well on one plate.

Frame: 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height, PA6-CF. 

To be honest, I blanked when designing this and did not account for smaller build plates. I have attached a .3mf file with a simple solution. I split the frame in half and added connectors. You will have to print it vertically and use supports. I also designed a back plate that will just barely fit the build plate. This can be glued on the back after snapping the two pieces together for extra support. 

In case you are unfamiliar with making lithophanes, there is many free ways to go about it. YouTube and wiki will be a great help to get started. I personally use HueForge. It's free and works great for other FDM art. A popular one I see others use frequently is itslitho.com . Before you drop your image in to HueForge, crop it to a square/1:1 ratio. This will let you set the dimensions above.
