OpenSlider XYZ Camera Slider
OpenSlider XYZ is a 3D-printable motorized camera slider for timelapse and product/video motion shots. It uses printed axis mounts and carriages on 2040 V-slot extrusion, GT2 belts and pulleys, NEMA 17 stepper motors, and a Marlin-based controller stack.
This Hawkridge refurbish package is meant to make the build easier to use today: curated printable/CAD files, updated build notes, and a separate Bill of Material for current sourcing.
What is included
- STL files for the printable slider parts.
- Editable STEP/F3D CAD files.
- Complete assembly STEP.
- Marlin firmware/config notes for the SKR 1.3 + TMC2130 path.
- Bill of Material PDF with current sourcing notes.
Build notes
Recommended print settings are PETG or ABS, no support material, 0.15 mm or 0.2 mm layer height, 3 to 5 perimeters, and about 25 percent infill. The M3 nut traps are intentionally tight; press nuts in carefully or use heat only if needed.
A 500 mm 2040 V-slot extrusion gives roughly 380 mm of travel. The Bill of Material assumes a full three-axis path, but the X-axis can be treated as the base build.
Current review caveats
- Hawkridge has not physically built/tested this slider yet.
- SKR 1.3 may be old-stock; verify the current controller path or adapt the Marlin config for a modern SKR-compatible board.
- Exact product links should be reviewed before relying on the Bill of Material as final purchasing advice.
