Use these FDM parameters as a reliable baseline for your prints: these settings are flexible, adapt them to your printer, material, or project.

  • Layer height: 0.2mm (selecting 0.16mm or 0.28mm provides an optimal hardware match for clean finishes).

  • Wall perimeters: 3 (for a solid model).

  • Top/Bottom layers: at least 5 (for completely opaque and sturdy flat sections).

  • Infill: Gyroid, 8%-10% density (great balance between speed and resistance for general use). Try switching to Adaptive Infill on larger models to reduce material usage.

  • Supports: some structural aid is necessary for the main overhangs to ensure a clean surface finish (90g of the 1kg total filament is dedicated to support structures).

Note: Default 'standard profiles' are a great way to start for easy and successful prints for beginners.

The model requires ~1kg of filament in total. This high-volume component requires over 50 hours to print. A dedicated project for makers looking for an impressive centerpiece! (average printing time is 3h50 per part, ranging from a few minutes to 11h50 maximum). Data are based on a print in 1:56 (28mm scale) on our Prusa MK4S (10% infill, 0.2mm layers), may vary depending on your printer and settings.
