I printed the Child lock with bracket by Coco Bandicoot and thought it was a great design—until my one-year-old got frustrated and pulled the drawer hard enough for the latch to flex and slide straight over the stop.
To make it toddler-proof, I redesigned the latch with a proper hook and added a corresponding recess in the bracket. This prevents the mechanism from bending backwards under force.
I also slightly extended the bracket so its mounting holes align with standard IKEA kitchen hole spacing. While my specific drawer layout required drilling new holes, the standard spacing is there if it fits your setup.
If the original bracket is too tall for some of your drawers, you can simply lower it by 2 mm in the slicer—that worked perfectly for a few of mine. You can see both height variants in the photos.
Print settings: Printed in PETG using a 0.4 mm nozzle.
