This 1/5 scale model of a Brute 44-gallon trash can is the perfect solution for taking care of any trash on your desk. Includes dolly.
This trash can has plenty of capacity while still remaining small enough to comfortably fit anywhere on your desk, workbench, dresser, or many other places. There is room inside for all sorts of waste, such as soda cans, old papers, printer poops, candy wrappers, and much, much more!
If bed adhesion is at all of an issue for you, using a brim is highly recommended.
Don't want to use a brim? Consider trying the Neo Dipped plate from SliceWorx. I use them for prints such as this that have a smaller surface area contacting the plate, and they work great! Similar high adhesion plates (i.e. Biqu CryoGrip) should also work just fine, but I have not tested any others.
Are supports required?
Nope! This model was designed to not require any supports. It prints upside down, then simply bridges across for the bottom.
What type of bags should I get to go inside the can?
I use 8 inch x 13 inch pet waste cleanup bags. They fit perfectly and make the can match the full scale can much better. Other sizes should work as well, as long as the width is at least 8 inches / 200mm. What I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DRKBMP2
What type of wheels do I need for the dolly?
The dolly is designed to work with 1/2 inch swivel casters, such as these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F4WPNZ6Z
In order for them to work properly, they must be cut down slightly so they do not poke through to the top of the dolly. A detailed guide for how to do this currently is in the works.
Can I print this scaled down?
This model was designed specifically for printing with a 0.4mm nozzle. As the walls are already thin with this size nozzle, scaling down very much will drastically reduce the strength of the trash can, making it much more likely to break. In other words, yes, it is possible, but I do not recommend doing so as it will be a lot weaker.
I have a couple other sizes currently in the works, which will be uploaded as soon as I finish optimizing all the dimensions and run a couple test prints.
