Alien vs Predator
A customizable, modular tool organizer for your toolbox drawers inspired by the Alien Space Saver.
Dimensions: 45x 37 x 8 (30mm rod center to center).
Features:
Snap-fit design that clips securely onto carbon 5mm diameter rods
Customizable spacing – print as many as you need and slide them to fit your tools
Fits most combination wrenches from 6mm up to 19mm (or SAE equivalents)
Low profile – leaves room in your drawer for taller tools
No supports required for an easy print
What You'll Need:
Two 5mm carbon fiber rods cut to your drawer width. You don't have to use carbon rods but they're pretty cheap off of Aliexpress. Here's a link to the ones I'm using. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808063563923.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.17.23681802OE3maI&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa
Print Settings:
Layer height: 0.2mm (5 top and bottom solid layers)
Infill: 33% Gyroid
Perimeters: 4 (1.57mm)
Material: PETG
Supports: Not needed
Cost to Print:
Each organizer is ~8.5g, so ~$0.12 based on using Sunlu PETG. Substantially better value than any extraterrestrial option off the shelf.
Future:
I have a couple other ideas for future improvements, variations and additional accessories to make a little bit of an ecosystem for toolbox organization. TBD
