Tom by TomTom sun visor mount

This is a simple two-part 3D-printable sun visor mount for Tom by TomTom. It is designed to hold the original magnetic plate and clip directly onto a car sun visor.

There is no complicated mechanism or unnecessary hardware: print both parts, glue them together, attach the original Tom magnetic plate, clip the holder onto the sun visor — done.

The design prints without supports and is suitable for sun visors up to approximately 15 mm thick.

Recommended printing settings

• Material: PCTG or ASA highly recommended

• Layer height: 0.20 mm

• Nozzle: 0.4 mm typical

• Infill: 15%

• Perimeters / walls: 2 perimeters

• Supports: None

There is no need to overdo wall thickness or infill. The Tom device is very light, and 15% infill with two perimeters is more than sufficient for this application.

Assembly

1. Print both parts.

2. Glue the two printed parts together.

3. Stick the original Tom magnetic plate onto the flat mounting surface.

4. Clip the holder onto the sun visor.

5. Attach Tom magnetically.

Simple, unobtrusive and functional.
