Improved USB Logic Analyzer Casing

Intended for the cheapo 8-channel USB logic analyzers you can get off Amazon (for like... $12 USD under names like "Taidacent", "HiLetGo", etc.). The logic analyzer itself is pretty decent for how cheap it is, but it's also cheap for how cheap it is. This means that the casing is flimsy and the traces on the board are very thin. Attempting to plug in a USB cable with too much force caused the traces to lift right off the board (yikes).

To work around this issue, I've designed a new case in FreeCAD that's thicker and provides support behind the USB port.

Print Instructions

I printed this out of lime green and transparent PETG filaments at 0.2mm layer height. No supports were needed, but you may want some for the body of the case if your printer struggles with bridges.

Assembly

Place the board in, put the tabs of the lid in one side of the case body and then press down until you get a satisfying snap.

Optional Step

You can slowly/carefully remove the label from the original casing and then apply it to the new lid as seen in my pictures above. If you're not able to do this, you can always make a label or something.

How It's Made

Designed in FreeCAD 1.1.3 (and a little bit of 26.3 to test some features). STEP files are provided for further modification and remixing as needed.
