Webcam mounts for Bausch & Lomb binocular dissecting scopes. The mount friction-fits over the eyepiece/ocular and the camera is affixed using zipties (see photos) or velcro strap.
The mounts are specifically designed for a Bausch and Lomb binocular dissection scope with 30 mm diameter eyepieces/oculars; however, I believe most dissecting microscopes are very similar, so the mount should have many applications. Focus can be adjusted by physically changing the depth of the eyepiece/ocular within the mount. Once set, you should not need to make any more changes to the mount; the focus adjustments on the microscope and in the camera's software should work well.
Any rectangular webcam with a centered lens should work. Cameras with off-centered lens will need to be figured out. See photo.
The depth of field is quite low (see photomicrographs; not stacked). You can take stacks of photos at different focal depths and just ImageJ to create a composite photomicrograph that appears to be all in focus.
I originally designed and printed these mounts in 2013/2014 for my undergrad research geology projects as a very inexpensive alternative to off-the-shelf options. Models in photos were printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 with PLA at 0.1 mm resolutions. I remember it taking hours; should take less than an hour on a decent printer today.
