Hi everyone,
I recently made a Hand Controller (HC) for the ZWO EAF.
Since my previous DIY focusers (built for MyFocuserPro2 or OnStep) weren't compatible with ASIAIR, I ended up purchasing a genuine ZWO EAF. However, once I installed it, I noticed that you can't manually adjust the focuser when the power is off. Realizing a hand controller was practically essential, I decided to build one.
I simplified it. For the temperature probe, instead of adding extra circuitry, I designed it so you simply unplug the HC and plug in the temp probe directly.
Here is the schematic:

I have also attached the 3D printing file for the housing, so you can print your own if you'd like.

BOM (Bill of Materials)
The required parts and estimated costs are listed below (total material cost is around $5.70):
Item | Qty | Unit Price (USD) | Link / Notes |
4-pin 3.5mm audio socket | 1 | $0.43
4-pole 3.5mm cable (Male-Male) | 1 | $2.13
3-pin toggle switch | 1 | $0.31
12mm push switch | 2 | $0.43
NTC 3950 100K ohm temperature sensor | 1 | $1.06
3-pole 3.5mm cable (Male) | 1 | $0.78 |
[additional]
M3 insert * 4
M3x10mm Bolt *4
Below are photos of the internal wiring and a video showing the HC in action:

Temperature Probe Usage
The temperature probe uses a non-polarized NTC 100K ohm thermistor.
If you purchase a 3-pole 3.5mm stereo plug, simply connect the wires to the tip and sleeve terminals (the ring is not used).
