I printed the holder using PLA, and it is incredibly sturdy; using PETG would almost be overkill. It is mounted using size 5 or 6 countersunk wood screws, though countersunk metal screws on a metal plate would work just as well.
I used three of them for a 1-meter threaded rod, which makes it easy to store shorter pieces as well.
