This design & accompanying software uses mLRS to create a control & telemetry solution for the UGV01, which tunnels the serial port on the UGV01 over mLRS back to a computer where it can be controlled by an application via:
USB mLRS device attached to a computer for control
mLRS device on the UGV as a receiver
Included is a macOS control application that also receives and displays telemetry from the UGV01. As the link works via a tunnelled serial connection, other applications will likely also work for other platforms.
This build is fairly easy, as one board does everything at both ends hence it is just a bit of easy soldering- Note the design does not include the pictured tripod - the USB device has a camera tripod screw sized insert in the bottom for you to provide your own.
Supporting Software
You can find pre-built firmware for the devices and a macOS control application in the project github repository here, along with software related instructions.
Required Hardware
Where inserts are specified Ruthex or CNC Kitchen are preferred, as Bambu and some other inserts are slightly different sizes. You will also need basic soldering equipment to complete the build.
Waveshare ESP32-S3 LR1121 LoRa Development Board (HF, including USB)
1/4 inch insert x1 (Note: hole is 8mm. Ruthex preferred as CNC Kitchen are 0.7mm larger)
M2 inserts x16
M2 screws x16
M2.5x16 screws x4
Pin strip
Cable, ideally colour coded (red/black/yellow/green) for making the pin strip a connector to the UART
Assembly
Please use the PDF guide included in the files section.
