Simple USB drive storage for at home and on the go
How I use this item:
Personally I get frustrated when I am pushing software to a machine and I have my USB for my mouse, jiggler (to keep screen from shutting off), and multiple USB drives with software loaded on them.
Seems that half the time I leave one sitting in a cab or put it in my pocket and forget about it or drop it never to be found again.
I built this so I can easily when I am not using a USB drive slide it into this storage holder and not have to worry about losing it.
Simple design that is very functional for what I do with it ( may not work for you needs)
I am able to keep certain USB drives with certain software prepared in a holder and just grab the holder that has the software or drive that I need.
Design:
The item has been in use for roughly 6months and has not broken one yet.
It firmly stays in the HDMI port and firmly holds USB drives.
In the pictures you will see that depending on where your USB slots are one hole of the holder may be blocked by the USB already in use, this is why I added several more slots.
Designed to work with any laptop
Printing this Item:
Used PETG with a 50% gyroid infill to give it some strength ( this has worked very well for me)
The ones pictured were printed with out support but depending on your printer it may need supports (Use your best judgment for your printer)
Slots may feel a little tight the first couple times of use
Will not fall out of HDMI port when carrying laptop
Drives will not fall out of holder
Take around 20-30 minutes to print, great for an end of spool print.
This design will not be for everyone but will hopefully help someone else out. It has been very useful for me, being able to have all of the drives I need within a piece of equipment and having a place to store USBs while others are in use if very nice.
