3D-printable adapter for mounting a SwitchBot Lock Ultra to a dormakaba QCI200 Series interconnected lock.

Designed for the QCI200-style interior deadbolt/thumbturn mechanism used on commercial interconnected locksets, including the QCI230, QCI231, QCI250, QCI251, and QCI285 family.

This adapter replaces the standard SwitchBot thumbturn adapter and provides the additional length and QCI-specific engagement geometry needed for the Lock Ultra to operate the recessed deadbolt mechanism.

The adapter was designed around the common QCI200-series interior deadbolt/thumbturn arrangement.

Compatibility with every QCI200 variant has not been individually tested. If you successfully use it with a QCI230, QCI231, QCI250, QCI251, QCI285, or an older K2/Stanley version, please post a Make or comment with your model number.

Why this adapter is needed

The dormakaba QCI200 is a commercial Grade 2 interconnected lockset. Its interior deadbolt mechanism is recessed inside the escutcheon and uses a longer, specialized thumbturn interface.

The adapters supplied with the SwitchBot Lock Ultra are not long enough / correctly shaped to engage this mechanism directly.

This part extends the SwitchBot Lock Ultra’s drive interface so that it can engage the QCI200 deadbolt mechanism while allowing the original exterior and interconnected lock hardware to remain in place.

Installation

1. Remove the existing interior QCI200 thumbturn as required for your installation.

2. Insert the printed QCI200 adapter into the deadbolt mechanism.

3. Verify that it rotates the deadbolt freely by hand before installing the SwitchBot.

4. Fit the SwitchBot Lock Ultra over the printed adapter.

5. Mount and calibrate the Lock Ultra normally.

6. Test locking and unlocking several times with the door open before relying on the installation.

The adapter should rotate freely without binding. Do not force the SwitchBot motor against a poorly fitting print.

Printing

This is a functional part that transmits torque.

Use multiple walls/perimeters and relatively high infill because the part experiences torsional load.

Print orientation can significantly affect strength.
