What it is

A stackable rack for the NVIDIA DGX Spark. One to four machines in a 205 mm footprint, printed in ABS or ASA. Every part fits a 220 x 220 mm bed.

It is an open frame on purpose. The Spark draws air through its front face and its underside, so there is no shelf under it: the ring opens to 168 x 168 mm and the machine rests on four small pads that shadow about 3.5% of the underside. Nothing blocks the intakes.

What to print

  • sparkstack_v3_0_base.stl - 1

  • sparkstack_v3_0_tier.stl - 1 per machine

  • sparkstack_v3_0_cap.stl - 1

  • sparkstack_v3_0_tier_pinned.stl - optional, see Pins

A four-machine stack is one base, four tiers, one cap.

Print settings

  • ABS or ASA. No supports anywhere - overhang is under 2.1% on every part.

  • 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 4 top / 4 bottom

  • 15% gyroid infill

  • Bed 105 C, nozzle 250 C ABS / 255 C ASA

  • Near-zero part cooling - these parts want still, warm air

  • Enclosed printer strongly recommended

Slicer profiles for the FlashForge AD5M Pro with a 0.4 nozzle are attached: a process profile and a filament profile for each material. Import them as a pair.

Assembly

Tiers stack on four corner tenons into four sockets. The fit is a light interference - 0.10 mm per side across crush ribs - so a stack holds itself up. No tools needed to assemble.

The cap carries the same socket and the base carries the same tenons, so everything is interchangeable.

Pins

Optional. The gold pins in the photos are decorative: an M3 or M4 thread-forming screw in each corner, four per joint, twenty for a four-high stack. Use M3 x 20 mm.

Use tier_pinned.stl if you want pins. The panel rail on the standard tier covers the pin bore, so nothing will go in.

The bore is 3.4 mm, which will fit an M3 screw (not tight without some locker) and is a good pilot for an M4 thread-forming screw, and a clearance hole if you would rather use it as a plain pin. Threading repeatedly into plastic wears the threads out, so this suits a pin that goes in once and stays.

Finishing

The cap takes an embossed SparkStack wordmark. This design accepts decorative outer panels (rendered and pictured), but are in development and are not in this release.

Thermal

The rack is designed not to obstruct airflow and increase the inter-machine gap rather than to actively add cooling. In our testing, our Sparks never exceed 80C GPU temp and typically run 74-78C under full load. This is better than we observed stacking them directly on top of each other.
