Why?
I often need to spray a whole mob of Boyz at once. Doing it model by model is a pain: you have to wait for the coat to dry, and if you rush it, you ruin the spray.
With the new Magnetic Quick-Change 3000™ it's snap, swap, done, quicker than a grot runs from a Nob!
How it works
Print a few holders (I use 4).
Stick your gitz on them with poster putty (Blu Tack/Patafix).
Spray the first holder, snap it off and put it aside to dry.
Snap on the next one and keep spraying. No waiting! WAAAGH!
Printing & assembly
Magnets: 10×2 mm, 4 per set (2 in the handle, 2 per holder). Pockets are Ø 10.3 × 2 mm.
⚠ MIND THE POLARITY! Mark one reference holder and glue every other holder the same way. Once glued, you can't fix it.
Glue the magnets in with CA glue.
The D-pin has quite a lot of play on my print. It still works fine, because the magnets hold strongly enough.
No brim or supports needed.
