Turn a wall into a message.

A projection lamp: print the parts, snap them together and drop in an IKEA KAPPLAKE LED spotlight. Switch it on and the text is projected — sharp and correctly readable — onto the wall around the lamp.

HOW IT WORKS

The shade is the exact inverse central projection of the message, so the text reads correctly on the wall. Base-on-wall design; the light enters from the top. Letters that fall behind the lamp can't shine through, so they are printed as a raised relief on the front face — the message stays continuous.

  • 0.4 mm nozzle, 3 walls, supports when needed for cuts

  • Layer height 0.15 mm

  • Opaque filament for the shade (light/white inside); optional second colour for the front text

The free web generator turns any text or an SVG logo into a ready 3MF. Change the message (multi-line, per-line cap height, extra tracking, mirror/rotate), use any built-in font or upload your own TTF/OTF, and mix in monochrome emoji. Tune the diameter, height, wall thickness, projection mode (wall or wrap), light-source distance and every fitting — KAPPLAKE holder, on/off button, top/bottom caps, rounded edge, mount and cable outlet (none/side/bottom with angle). SVG support is limited: paths (including arcs), basic shapes and group transforms only — strokes, gradients, <text> and images are ignored. Set the front-text relief to 0 for a flush inlay and the 3MF slices straight into two materials, so you can print it in colour on an MMU/AMS.
