My re-design of the Gazzaladra Infinite Notebook specifically for A5 size paper including inverting the pen/pencil holder shape, and redesign of the front/back closure mechanism for ease of use (I found the original model cumbersome to use).

Features

  • Ergonomic front/back cover clasp using a rubber band.

  • 1 to 4 slot spines to allow expansion as you add pages.

Non-printed materials required

  • 4 or more small rubber bands (e.g. 3mm wide x 1mm thick).

  • Pen or pencil.

  • A4 paper.

  • Needle nose pliers

  • Hobby knife.

Notes

Filament type

PLA, PETG, ABS

I printed mine with PLA.

Filament color

Any

I printed mine multi-color in a dark grey with silver silk filament insets.

Layer height

0.2 to 0.3mm

To save filament when printing the front and back covers, use a thicker layer height.

Infill

5 to 15%

To save filament when printing the front and back covers, use 5% infill.

Perimeters

3 to 4

Support material

Yes (PLA)

Use manual supports to avoid adding supports to the spine holes which can be difficult to remove.

Model orientation

Flattest sides on the print bed.

Clean up

Needle nose pliers and Hobby knife.

Assembly

Fit spine to front and back cover

  1. Cut two strips of filament (TPU works well but any filament should do) roughly to the length of the  spine.

  2. Choose the spine size to fit your needs - you can always swap it out later for another one.

  3. Fit the spine into either the front or back cover so the holes line up.

  4. Push the strips of filament into the holes.

  5. Trim off any excess filament at the end of the spine.

Install rubber bands

  1. Attach one or more (depending on the spine size) rubber bands to each end of the spine in the slots provided so that the inside of the spine (the flat part) has the rubber band(s) full length (optional: you may discover that looping the rubber band full length on both sides of the spine works better).

  2. Push a rubber band edge ways into the 'clasp' slot on the inside of the front cover - you can use the back edge of the hobby knife blade help push it in to the slot.

  3. Push the end of another rubber band into one side of the pen/pencil slot from the inside cover so it makes a small loop on the outside (where the depression is for the pen/pencil).

  4. Place a pen or pencil into that loop to hold it in place.

  5. Repeat on the other end of the slot.

  6. Push the remaining visible rubber band edge ways into the slot.

Add the paper sheets

  1. Take your sheets of A4 and fold them in half to make an A5 size.

  2. Carefully push them underneath the rubber band(s) on the inside of the spine.

  3. Your 'infinite' notebook is ready for use!
